OKLAHOMA CITY – The Rural Water, Sewer, and Solid Waste Management District No. 3, Osage County, Oklahoma (District) in Osage County received approval for a $99,999 Rural Economic Action Plan (REAP) grant Tuesday through the Oklahoma Water Resources Board (OWRB) to improve the District’s Water infrastructure. 

Rural Water, Sewer, and Solid Waste Management District No. 3 in Osage County is set to enhance its water distribution system through the rehabilitation of its existing storage tanks. The project involves sandblasting and recoating the tanks, along with necessary appurtenances, to improve system reliability and extend the lifespan of critical infrastructure. The total project cost of $117,080.00 will be funded through a $99,999.00 OWRB REAP grant and $17,081.00 in local contributions. These upgrades will ensure the continued delivery of safe and reliable water to the community.

Lori Johnson, chief of the OWRB's Financial Assistance Division, calculated that the grant will save the Authority’s customers $188,600 in principal and interest charges by not having to borrow the project funds
